Breaking
News! e-Learner is an ECDL endorsed
product which equips learners of all ages
with a solid foundation for progressing on
to the ICDL Core qualification. It is currently
available in the ICDL SA territory covering
Botswana, Burundi, Comoro Islands, Gambia,
Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Mauritius,
Namibia, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Seychelles,
Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania
and Uganda. This is fantastic news for all
educators and learners - and a feather in
our cap. This, in essence, also creates an
ICT path from primary school through to high
school with certification from the ICDL South
Africa. The newly endorsed affordable certified
product is branded as e-Learner.

Franchisee
of the Year 2007
The Franchisee of the Year 2007 award was
announced on 25th August 2007 at the Annual
Computers 4 Kids Franchise Conference held
in Cape Town.
Congratulations to Reinee Terreblanche-Brand
from the Boland office and to Annemi Labuscagne
from the Eastern Cape office who shared the
award this year. Reinee was awarded the coveted
trophy for her support, contributions and
approach to running her business while Annemi
was awarded the trophy (for the 3rd year running)
for her sales performance - an increase in
turnover for the region of 101% this year!

NEPAD launches South African
e-School
Computers 4 Kids is proud to be a member of
the HP Consorium providing an ICT curriculum
and localised content for the NEPAD
e-Schools initiative in Africa.

New Product – Automated Online
Assessments and SMS notification
Computers 4 Kids announced a new addition
to its C4K Online Management System (COMS)
this week – Automated Online Assessments.
This will allow learners to easily log in
online (an off-line version will also be available)
and complete an assessment covering a specific
lesson that an Educator has chosen to assess.
Once completed, the learner will receive an
immediate result and the Educator will be
presented with learner results in a table
format highlighting all the skills assessed.
The data can then be manipulated to create
reports, skills lists and class lists. This
presents a huge time saver for Computers 4
Kids Educators and further demonstrates COMS
ability to provide an effective LMS. The add-on
feature is the SMS result which the parent
receives once the learner has completed the
assessment! The class teacher / ICT Teacher
/ HOD also receives an SMS with the class
average once all learners have completed the

Online Planning and School Management Reporting
System Launched
This week saw the release of the Computers
4 Kids Online Management System (COMS).
This new system replaces the current system
and allows the educators to save their planning
online, edit their planning and add their
own lessons to the planning sheet. The new
version also allows School Management or
Support Personnel to view the planning,
add comments and view screenshots of the
completed lessons. Well done Team!
