About Computers 4 Kids
Computers 4 Kids is a Southern African computer education company run by a team of fully qualified educators. Our curriculum is currently being used in hundreds of schools by hundreds of thousands of pupils across Southern Africa every day. We have a strong curriculum development team which consists of experienced educators who have used their expertise in the fields of both ICT and Education to develop a dynamic and relevant integrated ICT curriculum which is user friendly and easy to implement.

 
About the Computers 4 Kids e-Learner Curriculum
The Computers 4 Kids e-Learner Curriculum was designed for use by class educators who teach ICT to their own classes. The full version of the Computers 4 Kids e-Learner Curriculum has been divided into graded volumes, each volume consisting of 22 Integrated ICT Learning Units comprising:

- An Educational Game (optional)
- Keyboard and Mouse Skills (younger learners) or Touch Typing Skills (older learners)
- Tech Talk
- Integrated Activity (integrating ICT skills with themes and topics currently being taught in Southern African schools)

Depending on the ICT and cognitive level of learners, learning units in higher or lower volumes can be used to extend or reinforce ICT skills and conceptual themes and topics.
Software Used
The Computers 4 Kids e-Learner Curriculum makes use of Open Office (Writer, Calc and Impress), Tux Paint and FreeMind. Some of the templates utilise Flash for which you will need a Flash player or the Flash plug-in for your browser.
 
Resources available
The Computers 4 Kids e-Learner Curriculum consists of many resources for both learner and educator.

Learner resources include:
- Templates (partially completed documents which the learners modify and complete)
- Pix Linx (a library of relevant pictures where applicable)
- Resource Linx ( any additional supporting information used for the Integrated Activity)
- Tech Talk Dictionary (a quick and easy reference to computer terminology)
- Website Links (saved web pages and online links to relevant websites)
- Self Assessment (a form for younger and older learners to evaluate their own progress)
- Peer Assessment (a form for younger and older learners to evaluate their peer's progress)

The full Computers 4 Kids e-Learner Curriculum consists of 22 Integrated ICT Learning Units in each volume. The following lessons and all resources needed to complete these lessons are supplied as free sample lessons with this package:

How to use the free sample lessons
1. Begin by selecting the Lesson Linx link on the menu page.
2. Select which volume you wish to view by clicking on the relevant number (for example: Volume 1).
3. A screenshot and a short description pertaining to the 20 Integrated Activities within that Volume will be displayed. The free sample lessons within each Volume have been marked with the wording "Try this lesson now".
4. Click on the lesson of your choice to view the detailed information and access the resources needed for the selected Integrated Lesson.
5. Educators should make use of the Educators booklet which has been included for each free sample lesson. It gives detailed step by step instructions as to how to complete the Integrated Lesson and may be found under the "Resource Linx" link. (This Educator booklet is usually supplied in the form of a printed booklet bound in volume files once the full curriculum has been ordered.)
6. After Educators have read through the Educator booklet and familiarised themselves with the requirements of the Integrated Lesson, the learners may utilise the relevant resources needed (templates, resources or saved web pages) to complete this lesson by clicking on the appropriate links contained on this detailed information page.
